Tribunals
A Tribunal is a hearing where the school district reviews a serious behavior incident and decides what should happen next. It gives families a chance to tell their side before the school makes a final decision. The process is usually broken into three simple steps:
Phase I: the Evidentiary phase at which the school/student present evidence/ witnesses to testify about the alleged misconduct. The hearing officer determines if the student has violated any school rules. If they have not violated any rules, they will go back to school however if they have the tribunal officer will move to phase II
Phase II: This is the records Phase where the schools' representatives present their grades, attendance and discipline history.
Phase III: This is the final stage where the student, parent/guardian have any opportunity to make any comments. Then the hearing officer renders a decision and imposes a consequence
